About the Game

Embark on a scenic journey through the Garden of England with Firefly Simulations’ Medway Valley Line in Train Sim World! Explore the Kent countryside aboard Southeastern services via the county town of Maidstone, hugging along the bank of the Medway and weaving through industrious landscapes between Strood, Paddock Wood & Tonbridge.

The Medway Valley Line dates back to 1847 as the South Eastern Railway’s effort to connect Maidstone to their London - Dover mainline. With this branch line that followed the path of the River Medway, hop and fruit traffic could remain competitive by taking advantage of rail-based connections to the capital and the English Channel. Following the line’s early success, it was extended in 1856 further along the valley to Strood, joining up with the northern stretch of the SER network.

In Train Sim World; 170 years after the line’s completion, become a driver or guard aboard Southeastern services across the Medway Valley Line. Take in the picturesque riverside sights of the valley as you traverse the Garden of England - the original section of the Medway Valley is known for its natural beauty, contrasted with its more industrial northern half. A journey that time forgot, the line still features many grade-listed structures including unique town station buildings, signal boxes which are still operated locally today, and Kent’s iconic Oast Houses frame the backdrop throughout.

Climb aboard the Southeastern BR Class 375/3 which operates the majority of the Medway Valley Line’s passenger services. As you set off across the 2025 working timetable, explore a royal flush of features including - for the first time - interactive UK GSM-R! Key in your headcode and contact the signaller to get a response. Keep an eye on the CCTV cameras when performing guard duties and capture the perfect shot with sparking third rail shoes, all while enjoying a new sound set and audible passenger announcements. Complementing its 3-car counterpart, the 375/6 is also included, not only for rushing along the Chatham and South Eastern Main Lines but also deputising across the valley itself.

Get the most out of the 2025 timetable with Southeastern Javelin and Networker layers, as well as the Thameslink Class 700, adding life to North Kent and making the occasional visit along the valley. Take on additional layered challenges with Cargo Line 1 and 2, RHTT services and railtours (content available separately).
